How much do I pay for NHIF per month?

For the self-employed nhif members, you are supposed to pay 500 shillings per month. For the private and government employees, the nhif monthly rates are provided above per salary bracket.

Can you pay NHIF for the whole year?

Yes, the self-employed nhif members can pay 6000 shillings nhif contribution for the whole year

Can you pay NHIF in installments?

Yes, if you are self-employed, you can pay nhif contributions in monthly installments of 500 shillings per month.

What happens if you delay paying NHIF?

In case you default or delay paying your nhif monthly contributions, you shall be penalized with a 50% charge of your monthly contribution which is 250 shillings.

How long does it take for NHIF payment to reflect?

Your nhif contributions shall take 2 to 3 days after payment to reflect in your nhif contributions statement.
